Verified The gentleman arrived at my home. He immediately began to take my microwave apart after I explained the problem. I expected to get an estimate before the repair to make certain it was worth me spending the money to repair instead of replacing. He never provided me an estimate. He stood on my kitchen chair without asking permission or seeing if I had a ladder. Once he completed his work. He asked how was I going to pay? I asked him how much. He quoted me $225. I nearly fell on the floor. I questioned him about the price. I didn’t see him replace any parts. So his fee was strictly labor. I inquired about the $50 service fee. He stated that was credited. He didn’t provide me with any written paperwork explaining what he did. For a matter of approximately 40-60
minutes, I ended up paying him $200. I just paid $200 earlier for an electrician. I feel that being an elderly woman living in a pretty nice neighborhood, I was taken advantage of. Never will I hire this company again. Next time, I’ll get someone off Craigslist and never will I have someone come in to my home without getting a price upfront. I could have purchased a brand new microwave.

Brands We Repair

From the biggest names to the lesser-known, we repair them all

Most Hastings kitchens run on mainstream brands — Whirlpool, GE, Frigidaire, Samsung, LG, Maytag, Kenmore, Amana. We handle every major brand you’re likely to have in a rural Northeast Florida home, plus premium and built-in lines like Sub-Zero, Wolf, Thermador, Viking, and Bosch on the newer properties. Common OEM parts stay on the truck, so most repairs finish in a single visit.

FAQ to Appliance Repair in Hastings

How fast can you get to Hastings?

Our base in St. Johns is about 30-35 minutes from Hastings on SR-207. Calls placed before noon are usually handled the same afternoon. Emergencies — a fridge full of food at risk, a leaking dishwasher — get prioritized whenever possible.

Do you service well-water appliances in Hastings?

Yes. A big share of Hastings homes run on private wells. Hard, mineral-heavy water wears out ice maker valves, refrigerator water filters, dishwasher inlet valves, and washer water lines much faster than city water does. We know the failure patterns and can spot a hard-water clog versus an actual part failure quickly.

Do you work on older appliances and mobile home appliances?

Yes — we repair appliances of all ages, including compact and mobile-home-sized units. If parts are still available for the model (which they usually are for major brands), most repairs make far more financial sense than replacement.

How much does appliance repair in Hastings typically cost?

The final price depends on the type of appliance, the nature of the issue, and the brand and age of the unit. As a rough guide for typical residential jobs:
Refrigerator repair: usually $200–$400
Dishwasher repair: usually $150–$300
Washer or dryer repair: usually $150–$350
Oven, range, or cooktop repair: usually $100–$250
Built-in microwave or garbage disposal: usually $100–$200
Premium and built-in brands (Sub-Zero, Wolf, Thermador, Viking, Miele) sit above these ranges. Once we diagnose the appliance on-site, you get a flat repair price before any work begins.

Our fridge stopped working after a summer thunderstorm. What now?

Power surges from summer thunderstorms and lightning strikes damage control boards in refrigerators, washers, ovens, and dishwashers regularly. First try a full breaker reset — some appliances recover with that alone. If the unit is still dead, the control board or another component likely took the hit. Individual parts can usually be replaced, so the unit isn’t necessarily finished. In this part of Florida we see this a lot during summer storm season.
